Pick up from your hotel and leave Mwanza around 7:00 a.m. and drive for 2 hours and 30 minutes to the Worldfamous Serengeti National Park with Lunch Boxes Serengeti is one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The extensive grasslands are interspersed with 'kopjes', rocky outcrops like islands in the flat plain, just like the sea of grass. The park's name, Serengeti, derived from the Masai word 'Siringet' meaning 'endless plain', is witnessed when sailing in the short and long grass plains. It is here where the world’s great migration takes place annually. Nile crocodiles, the largest crocodile, lie in wait in the Serengeti Rivers.

After breakfast, we enjoy a full-day game drive with lunch at the camp along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River and is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich, and cheetah sightings. The visitor’s center, not far from the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites, is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely designed center offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling leaflets and maps of the area. The center also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the center in the shade of the giant acacia trees. Dinner and overnight in the Seronera area, as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.
The day may start with an early morning sunrise game drive (that is, before breakfast), or you can take breakfast and then start the day with game viewing. We are always flexible on that so that our clients can get what they expect on a safari. After lunch, prepare for the journey back to Mwanza while enjoying en route game drives. Drop you off in Mwanza (drop-off point to be advised).
