Africa Natural Tours started in Moshi in 2008, in the shadow of the mountain most of our clients come here to climb. We're a registered Tanzanian local tour operator — Tourism Licensing Authority (TALA) License No. 034406, BRELA registration No. 531295 — which means we're not a booking agency reselling other companies' trips. We own our vehicles, employ our local guides directly, and run our own gear stores in every branch city.
Nearly two decades on, we're a team of 200-plus people with seven branch offices inside Tanzania and sister offices in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, supported by a wider international network that helps travelers plan from wherever they're booking. We've served more than 25,000 clients, and our guides and mountain crew have supported enough Kilimanjaro climbs and safaris to build up a genuine, on-the-ground understanding of these routes and parks — not just a catalog of them.
Each of these means something specific: TANAPA licensing is what allows us to operate legally inside Tanzania's national parks, KPAP certification means we're independently monitored on porter wages, loads, and treatment on Kilimanjaro, and TATO membership ties us to the national tour operators' association's code of conduct.
